Meet Our Keynote Speakers: John Graham, "Give your kids the stories of heroes. Give kids the opportunity to live heroic values through service. Give them more responsibility than you may be comfortable with and let them rock a few boats when necessary. Raise questions of meaning... Helping young people to develop good character, and to live meaningful lives, is immensely satisfying. You see you're providing not just academic learning and job skills but a lifelong context for using both. You're preparing kids to take on the challenges of the 21st century as active citizens and, in doing that, you are helping ensure the well-being of your community, this nation and the world. What's more meaningful than helping shape young lives in this very powerful way?" | Rick Guidotti, She was standing at a bus stop on Park Avenue, all white-blond hair and pale, pale skin and giggly smiles. She had to be about 13, or not much older. Rick Guidotti, high-fashion photographer, a man who spent his days snapping Cindy and Claudia and Kate, remembers looking at the girl and thinking: "Now, that is beauty. So much life. So much happiness. That girl is gorgeous." That girl — who disappeared into the bus while Guidotti, camera in hand, chased after her image — had albinism. The white hair and white skin were a result of a genetic condition that can cause blindness or even skin cancer. Guidotti knew enough to recognize that. But he didn't know much else beyond the clinical name. | Geraldine Bednash, PhD, RN, FAAN, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, was appointed executive director of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) in December 1989. In her role, Dr. Bednash oversees the educational, research, governmental affairs, publications, and other programs of the organization that is the national voice for baccalaureate and graduate-degree education programs in nursing - the nation's largest health care profession. | Connie Merritt, RN, PHN, Nicknamed “The Lion Tamer,” Connie Merritt, is part college professor, part philosopher and part comedienne for her programs improving your work and home relationships. Author of Finding Love (Again!) and The Taming Guidebook Series, she synthesizes research on medicine, psychology and sociology to make your life simpler and more fun. | Exchange Cafe Breakfast Discussions
