Promoting your Profession and Practice

One of NAPNAP's strategic priorities is to promote the role of the PNP. NAPNAP's National Office staff does this in a number of ways, but the most effective spokespersons for PNPs are PNPs. A great way to increase awareness of the value PNPs bring to children's health care is to get articles and stories published in media used by consumers and professionals. Most members are familiar with publishing in professional journals such as the Journal of Pediatric Health Care, but writing for consumer publications is different. To assist members in both soliciting opportunities for getting published in consumer media, and in preparing copy for this pursuit, Former NAPNAP Executive Director Bob Hall developed guidelines that members may find useful. NAPNAP is pleased to share an article in Contemporary Pediatrics. The article, '"The 40-year story of PNP caregiving - still being written", is authored by  Rosemary Liguori, RN, PhD, CPNPRichard Ricciardi, MS, CPNPDolores C. Jones, RN, EDD, CPNP, and Lisa Kohr, RN, MSN, AC-PNP, MPH. The article discusses the history of PNPs and provides information about the PNP role.  This article is available online.
