Loretta C. Ford Distinguished Fellow Award

Purpose:

The Loretta C. Ford Distinguished Fellow Award is awarded annually to an active NAPNAP member who best exemplifies contributions to the expansion or improvement of pediatric health care and the advancement of the profession of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners at the local community, state and/or regional level.

Criteria:

  • Nominee must be a member in good standing of NAPNAP.
  • The individual's contribution must be significant in furthering the development of the PNP role and/or promoting the health care of children.
  • Impact on the contribution must be felt on the local, state or regional level.
  • Current national Executive Board members or members of the Henry K. Silver and Loretta C. Ford Selection Panel are ineligible to receive this award.

Examples Of Qualifications For The Nominees May Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Service as a local NAPNAP chapter officer, task force or committee chair.
  • Service on regional, state, community, school, or religious boards or committees that impact services to children and families
  • Activities related to state or regional health policy initiatives
  • Service as mentor, instructor, or preceptor for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner students
  • Presentations to state and local organizations that address pediatric health care concerns
  • Activities related to improving health care delivery for children and families within a local community, state or region.
  • Original publications that may have affected the delivery and practice of pediatric health care services

Deadline For Application:

Completed Nomination Packets are due in the National Office by December 30th.

  • A double-spaced, typed narrative description (500 words or less) of the reasons this nominee should receive the award according to the criteria listed above.
  • Nominee's current Curriculum Vitae
  • Four (4) Letters of Reference 1 - 3 pages in length addressing how the nominee fits the award criteria.
