President's Message Linda Lindeke, PhD, RN, CPNP .jpg) As president of NAPNAP, I welcome you to our website, your source for career support services and pediatric evidence-based practice. Allow me to introduce myself. I am an associate professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the School of Nursing, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. I also coordinate pediatric nursing master’s options in the Center for Children with Special Health Care Needs. I have nearly 40 years of nursing experience specializing in pediatrics and over 30 years in advanced practice nursing as a pediatric nurse practitioner. For over 35 years the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners has been a leading voice for children’s health and well-being. Daily we post new information to assist online visitors in dealing with complex health care challenges and systems. We constantly create resources to support your career in practical ways. For example, be sure to visit PNP SOURCE, NAPNAP’s new e-learning website for exciting continuing education. NAPNAP is a premier national and regional voice for child and family health through advocacy and nursing leadership. We partner with many national organizations and commercial entities to fulfill the mission. Our 7,000 members in 49 chapters work at the grassroots level, supporting many activities including continuing education and community outreach. We have special interest groups (SIGS) where members organize their efforts around certain practice topics. An example: the Global Health Special Interest Group is exploring ways to connect internationally with service and educational projects. NAPNAP crafts carefully-researched and timely position papers about key issues that will be helpful. Visit our website often and explore! Your ideas and comments are valued, so contact me President@napnap.org. Visit often and provide us with your input so that we can serve you even better! Linda Lindeke, PhD, RN, CPNP NAPNAP President
